THORA OLIVER Thora Oliver passed away April 24, 2001 at Meadowood Manor. Thora was born March 7, 1910 in Baldur, Man. She taught school for many years in rural Manitoba and retired to Winnipeg in 1970. Thora maintained an interest in her nieces and nephews and their families and was always interested in music. Predeceased by her parents, Jakobina and Olafur; sisters, Borga Magnusson and Helga Davidson and brother Jonas. Survived by her brother Baldur (Gwen) Oliver; nieces, Olof (Jim) Wood, Margaret (Roy) Murphy, Nancy (Court) Reyda, Winnipeg, Yvonne Palmer, Killarney; nephews, Dunn (Irene) Magnusson, Consort, Alta., Doug (Diane) Oliver, Ottawa; plus great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Meadowood Manor Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m. Interment of ashes will be at Baldur and a memorial service at Baldur Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadowood Manor or to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baldur. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Meadowood for their care and kindness to Thora.
